BNV : রূবেণ ছিলেন ইস্রায়েলের প্রথম সন্তান| তাই, প্রথামত তাঁরই বড় ছেলের বিশেষ সম্মান ও সুবিধে পাবার কথা| কিন্তু য়েহেতু রূবেণ তাঁর পিতার স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে দৈহিক সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করেছিলেন সেই কারণে বড় ছেলের অধিকার য়োষেফের পুত্ররা পেয়েছিলেন| পারিবারিক ইতিহাসেও, রূবেণের নাম বড় ছেলের হিসেবে নথিভুক্ত করা নেই| যিহূদা য়েহেতু তাঁর ভাইদের থেকে বেশি শক্তিশালী হয়ে উঠেছিলেন, সেহেতু তাঁর পরিবার থেকেই নেতা স্থির করা হত| তা সত্ত্বেও, বড় ছেলের বিশেষ অধিকার ও অন্যান্য ক্ষমতা য়োষেফের বংশের লোকরাই ভোগ করতেন| রূবেণের পুত্ররা ছিল হনোক, পল্লু, হিষ্রোণ ও কর্মী|
KJV : Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he [was] the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
YLT : As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel -- for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father hath his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright,

ESV : The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel ( for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, so that he could not be enrolled as the oldest son;
ERVEN : Reuben was Israel's first son. Reuben should have received the special privileges of the oldest son. But he had sexual relations with his father's wife. So those privileges were given to Joseph's sons. In the family history, Reuben's name is not listed as the first son. Judah became stronger than his brothers, so the leaders came from his family. But Joseph's family got the other privileges that belong to the oldest son. Reuben's sons were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

BNV : রূবেণ, গাদ ও অর্ধেক মনঃশি পরিবারগোষ্ঠী থেকে 44 ,760 জন সাহসী লোক ছিল| ঢাল-তরোযাল ছাড়াও তীর-ধনুক নিয়ে যুদ্ধ করাতেও তারা ছিল পারদর্শী|
KJV : The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, [were] four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
YLT : Sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword, and treading bow, and taught in battle, [are] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going out to the host.

BNV : মনঃশি, রূবেণ ও গাদ পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর লোকরা সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বরের কাছে যুদ্ধে তাদের সাহায্য করার জন্য প্রার্থনা করেন| ঈশ্বর তাদের সাহায্য করেন কারণ তারা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করেছিল এবং তারা হাগরীযদের ও অন্যান্য সকলকে যুদ্ধে পরাস্ত করে|
KJV : And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that [were] with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

ERVEN : The men from the tribes of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad prayed to God during the war. They asked God to help them because they trusted him, so God helped them. He allowed them to defeat the Hagrites and those who were with the Hagrites.

ERVEN : The God of Israel made King Pul of Assyria want to go to war. He was also called Tiglath Pileser. He fought against the tribes of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad. He forced them to leave their homes and made them prisoners. Pul took them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and near the Gozan River. Those tribes from Israel have lived in those places since that time until today.
